The ANU Med Revue is a musical comedy extravaganza, performed live over four nights in May each year. The show is entirely written, produced, directed, choreographed, managed and performed by students of the ANU Medical School, and is sponsored principally by the ANU Medical Students Society. Content critiques the year of medicine, politics, current affairs and medical education. From operatic quartets to multimedia gags, hip-hop to Bollywood, live 5-piece bands to special staff guest appearances, this annual concoction of comedy routines and parody songs has been a sell-out success since its inception four years ago.
This year, for the first time, the ANU Med Revue was proud to call itself a charity fundraising event. Proceeds were donated at the conclusion of the season to the Canberra Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In this way, the ANU Med Revue allows students to contribute something back to the community; to the hospital and the patients who are so generous in providing us with learning opportunities. The pre-show/interval snack bar also provides a fundraising opportunity for the Fiji Village Project, a ground-level community building project run by the EnSIGN branch of the ANUMSS.
